I have been a massage therapist since 1992 and in private practice for 10 years. I
specialize in addressing chronic tension, pain, or limitation and bringing
about long term relief/change.
Often people attribute body complaints to growing older, as though such changes were inevitable. In truth, the musculoskeletal system has the ability to remain strong, flexible, and open well into old age. I find that the majority of peoples’ aches and pains are their body’s ways of telling them where there are slowly accumulating problems.
My work is anatomically specific, deep, and slow. I do a lot of neuromuscular therapy and myofascial release work and am very experienced in working with referred pain and trigger points. I often refer to it as manual therapy or bodywork to avoid confusion with classic relaxation massage.
We get accustomed to our limitations and tend to dismiss them if they are explainable. The type of work I do is the most effective I have found and people often report a return to an ease and freedom of motion they hadn’t even realized they had lost.
